BBC Scotland plummet the depths

For reasons best known to their editorial team BBC Radio Scotland decided to seek out the opinion of Michael Mols after Celtic’s 4-1 win over Hearts today.

With a contact book that seems to specialise in their EBT list the state broadcaster gave the former Rangers (IL) striker airtime to claim that only one of Celtic’s six titles was worth counting.

It’s a tired argument put forward by the desperate men on the Ibrox message-boards and picked up on by company chairman Dave King.

In a bid to sell season tickets the South African based criminal claimed that Scottish football only matters when there is a club from Ibrox in the top division.

Celtic won the title in season 2011/12 after falling 15 points behind Rangers with the hoops recovery forcing the club from Ibrox into administration followed by liquidation.

The hoops have added a further five titles and completed last season without defeat to finish 30 points clear of Aberdeen and 39 ahead of the Ibrox tribute act.

This week on Radio Scotland’s Sportsound they’ll have special guests Barry Ferguson, Derek Ferguson, Fergus Ferguson, Alex Rae and Gordon Smith.
