BBC step up attack on Celtic

It seems that someone inside the BBC really has it in for Celtic.

There are numerous examples of how they operate in Scotland, every night of the week their Sportsound programme read out the headlines of the day then almost inevitably add ‘but first to Ibrox and’ followed by the thoughts of a member of the Ferguson family.

Yesterday there was plenty happening across their football world, the English Football League kicked off with less than a week to go until the start of the English Premier League circus.

They had a Tottenham injury scare to get excited over, Arsenal v Chelsea to preview preview and a ‘friendly’ involving Burnley abandoned at half-time due to nasty German hooligans.

Additionally Mr Chelsea, John Terry made his debut for Aston Villa while there is the final of the woman’s European Championship to enthuse over.

But what was the lead story on their UK wide football page? Jon Daly’s angry rant at Brendan Rodgers!

Most licence payers would struggle to pick Daly out in a three man identity parade but if he wants to attack the Celtic manager then he is given UK wide coverage.

The article fails to make any reference to the numerous examples of the Hearts coach being undermined.

No mention that the previous coach left for MK Dons or Daly being dispatched to the touchline at Pittodrie to pass on the thoughts of Craig Levein.

Having given Michael Mols the airwaves to undermine Celtic’s six in a row titles the BBC haven’t had the guts to repeat those claims on line.

Bizarrely BBC Scotland and the club from Ibrox are involved in a stand off at present- perhaps putting the boot into Celtic at every opportunity is part of the pace deal to bring the pair back together.
