Chris Davies has revealed that Celtic are still working on bringing in new faces before the transfer window closes.

The hoops have until midnight tonight to add to their squad with French striker Odsonne Edouard expected to complete a loan deal later today.

On Monday the return of Patrick Roberts from Manchester City gave the fans a boost with supporters hoping for further business during the course of today.

Speaking to the club website Davies said: “It’s quite late on the window but we are still working away on one or two possibilities but there is nothing definitive in terms of the number of players.

The club are still working hard to see if there is anything more we can do and if there is something right for us, it will be done.”

On Saturday Celtic’s hopes of signing Rivaldo Coetzee from Ajax Cape Town came to a halt when the defender failed a medical.

With Erik Sviatchenko and Dedryck Boyata both out injured it looks like Celtic will go into the Champions League with an untried central defensive partnership.

Nir Bitton or Mikael Lustig are likely to partner Jozo Simunovic on September 12 against Paris St Germain with Simunovic likely to be missing from the team to face Hamilton on September 8.
