Hearts fans turn on Levein

Image for Hearts fans turn on Levein

Hearts fans have turned their anger onto Craig Levein following the sacking of Ian Cathro.

Seven miserable months of desperate results accompanied by unconvincing sound-bites led to the announcement this morning that Cathro had left the club.

Since Ann Budge took charge of Hearts all footballing matters have gone through the former Scotland manager with the focus now firmly on Levein and Budge to get things right on the park.

Imagine if Craig Levein appointed himself????

Saturday’s SPFL match against Celtic is the worst possible fixture for the club with three more away matches before Hearts return to the newly refurbished Tynecastle.

Tommy Wright and Peter Houston appear two obvious candidates to manage the club but being the head coach to Levein narrows the field greatly.

If Levein continues in his role the image of him sending Jon Daly to the dug out to deliver directions will hang over the new ‘boss’.

As they showed two seasons ago a strong Hearts have something to offer the Scottish game but they know that that position has to be earned on the pitch.

If the fans had their way Levein would be following Cathro out along Gorgie Road but rather than start again from scratch Budge is likely to give her Director of Football the chance to salvage the situation.
