Brendan Rodgers is too long in the tooth to be caught out by any underhand questioning in a media conference.
A year of dealing with the Scottish media has added to his know how of their English equivalent when it comes to someone fishing for a certain type of answer.
The refereeing performance in last year’s Celtic v Astana match seems to have left a bad impression of Scotland with Celtic going through thanks to a last minute penalty converted by Moussa Dembele.
The penalty was clear cut with the ordering off that followed coming straight out of the refereeing text book.
With Astana back in town and the stakes raised for the Play-Off round Rodgers was able to sniff from a mile away a long winded and particularly loaded question.

Despite the high stakes the Celtic boss was in relaxed form looking forward to the two matches that will go a long way to deciding the success or otherwise of Celtic’s season.
With Leigh Griffiths fit and taking a full part in training Rodgers main decision comes in defence where he has to decide whether he continues with Nir Bitton alongside Jozo Simunovic.
