Rodgers on his quality plan

Brendan Rodgers will be working every day of the transfer window to bring quality to Celtic.

The hoops boss is two matches away from reaching the group phase of the Champions League and bringing in a £30m boost to the club’s coffers.

So far during the current transfer window Rodgers has signed Jonny Hayes, Olivier Ntcham and Kundai Benyu which has come to just over £5m.

Attracting the type of quality that can make a difference in Europe is the aim of the Celtic boss with Patrick Roberts the type of player that the Irishman would love to have back on board.

Speaking to The Sun about his transfer plans Rodgers said: “Just on availability, we’ll see what players are available.

I have to bring in quality so it’s dependent on the quality that’s available.

So we’re looking, we’re working every day to see what is available and that will be the case right the way through to the end of the market in August.”

Injuries to Moussa Dembele, Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko could alter Rodgers’ transfer plans with so much resting on getting through the play-off round.

The third round draw with take place at 11am Celtic Park Time on Friday with Celtic to face Astana, Qarabag, Slavia Prague, Hapoel Beer Sheva or Croatian champions Rijeka.
