Sevco are set to take a revolutionary step by becoming a SELLING club.

After five years in which the £500,000 fee from Mark Warburton for Lewis MacLeod in January 2015 is the record fee the Ibrox side are preparing for change.

Over the last month £627,500 has been raked in from the transfers of Barrie McKay, Rob Kiernan and Martyn Waghorn with new Director of Football Mark Allen determined to sell on more gems for PROFIT.

Catching up on how every club in Scotland operates- rather than living off soft loans and tax scams- Allen outlined his revolutionary approach in the club programme for last night’s League Cup tie against Dunfermline.

The Sun reported that Allen, who used to work for Manchester City, said: “The most important thing for me is that we have a robust scouting network and that’s my primary focus. I’m underway with that, obviously that’s the life-blood of the club.

It’s vital we find players who fit the profile of Rangers players as well as developing a pathway for young players to come through.

We need eyes in the field and a lot of systems in the background about players.

It’s identifying the needs and making sure we know everything about the player before we recruit them.

It’s essential we develop our own players, so the youth academy is critical to our future and I think the fans love to see young players coming through, that’s the medium to long term plan.

The short term plan is to make sure we recruit players who will add value to the club. There will be some who come in and stay a few years and are then sold on, while there will be others who come and stay for good.”

As well as having a bigger stadium, higher ticket prices, better commercial deals and being more successful on the pitch Celtic have sold more than £50m worth of players since Sevco started life in 2012.

Sevco have made a net spend of £9m during the current transfer window with record signing Carlos Pena still to make his debut after four matches of the new season.

Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster, Gary Hooper, Stefan Johansen, Virgil van Dijk, Tony Watt and Ki Sung Yeung have all been bought and sold to fund the squad that Brendan Rodgers is currently working with.
