Sevco are set to swoop for Cardiff ace DECLAN John.

According to a report in The Sun the Cardiff defender is set to become the latest addition to the best squad in Scotland.

John has a year left on his Cardiff deal and has been dumped out of the team since Neil Warnock took over.

The 22-year-old has mainly played at left-back which could pose a threat to the place of inspirational skipper Lee Wallace.

Bruno Alves was expected to be handed the armband at the start of the SPFL season but after an internal revolt Pedro Caixinha decided to leave the captaincy with Waldo while claiming that his side contained five captains.

So far this summer Sevco have spent around £10m on new players with only Ryan Jack and Graham Dorrans coming from within the UK.

Around £1.5m has been raised from selling Joey Garner, Martyn Waghorn and Barrie McKay while Andy Halliday, Harry Forrester and Micky O’Halloran have gone out on loan.
