Plymouth Argyle are close to completing the loan signing of Nadir Ciftci.

The League One club have published an article on their website showing the striker at Holm Park but add that the paperwork for the deal is still to be completed.

Ciftci joined Celtic from Dundee United two years ago but the move to Plymouth is the third loan deal since leaving Tannadice.

Brendan Rodgers made it clear to the striker last season that he had no future with the hoops but with two years remaining on his contract the player holds most of the cards.

Plymouth are managed by former Ross County boss Derek Adams who has brought in a number of players with SPFL experience including former Celtic midfielder Graham Carey.

Last season they won promotion to League One and have opened the new campaign with four points from three matches with Ciftci expected to make his debut at home to Scunthorpe on Saturday.
