Celtic’s hopes of having Patrick Roberts available to face Astana appear to have been ended with the winger included in the Manchester City squad to face Girona in a friendly tomorrow.
Pep Guardiola has included the winger in the squad that flies to Spain today for the friendly and a couple of days warm weather training.
Celtic have been involved in talks to bring Roberts back to Glasgow but it doesn’t seem as if there is much enthusiasm from the English side.

The hoops have until 11pm on Tuesday to register a wild card signing for Wednesday’s match but it’s highly unlikely that Brendan Rodgers will turn his attention to another target so close to the game.
Rodgers main concern is about his side’s central defensive partnership with Nir Bitton currently deputising for Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko.
In attack Leigh Griffiths is confident of being fit for the match despite missing the game at Partick Thistle due to a calf strain.
