Gordon Strachan is hopeful that Leigh Griffiths will be fit for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier against Paris St Germain.
The Celtic striker scored Scotland’s second goal in the 2-0 win over Malta but was substituted in the 69th minute.
Griffiths has a history of calf muscle problems with Strachan giving an update straight after tonight’s match.
“He has a tight calf,” the Scotland boss admitted. “So he was a threat, hopefully he’ll be fine for the game next week. They’ve got a game on Friday but I think the big one with due respect to Hamilton will be the next one.”
Celtic have got a week to get Griffiths fit for the home match against Paris St Germain which opens Celtic’s Champions League campaign.
A year ago Griffiths missed the opening Champions League matches due to a hamstring injury.
With Moussa Dembele battling back from a hamstring strain and Odsonne Edouard still to make his debut Brendan Rodgers will be anxious to have his first choice striker available to face the French side.
