Olivier Ntcham was delighted to play his part in the French u-21 sides 4-1 win over Kazakhstan.

After helping Celtic through the two legged tie against Astana the midfielder will be something of a Kazakh football expert.

Ntcham played the full 90 minutes but the French had to rely on Martin Terrier of Strasbourg to turn the game with the 57th minute substitute coming on to score a 16 minute hat-trick.

The French u21 side is one of the most heavily scouted in Europe with a tried and tested formula for developing quality players.

Some players however just bypass u21 football with Kylian Mbappe, the £166m teenager already a regular in the full international squad managed by Didier Deschamps.

Elsewhere last night Anthony Ralston played the full 90 minutes for Scotland’s u21 side in their 2-0 win over Holland with Mikey Johnston an unused substitute.

While Ralston will be in the Celtic first team squad to face PSG in the Champions League next week Johnston will be involved in the u19 UEFA Youth League equivalent match.
