It was all right on the night as Celtic beat Anderlecht 3-0 in Brussels to take three priceless points in Champions League Group B.

The match was billed as a Europa League play-off with Celtic on course to book a spot in Europe after Christmas barring an unlikely 4-0 defeat at home or Anderlecht taking points elsewhere in the group.

Brendan Rodgers opted for a bold formation with Olivier Ntcham replacing Stuart Armstrong in the only change to the team that beat Sevco 2-0 at Ibrox.

The Frenchman looked off the pace early on, in common with half a dozen team mates but in the 37th minute he sent Kieran Tierney free down the left with Leigh Griffiths racing to the back post to drive the ball into the net from six yards out.

Five minutes after the break Patrick Roberts cut into the penalty box and watched his low shot deflect off a defender into the net.

There could have been more goals for the away fans to celebrate but they had to wait until the final minute to enjoy number three with Scott Sinclair racing down the left them slamming a shot high into the net.
