In the midst of a famous victory for a club that pays HMRC in full Chris McLaughlin couldn’t resist striking a low blow.
While BT Sport were lavish in their praise of Celtic BBC reporter McLaughlin decided, given 140 characters, to highlight Anderlecht’s problems.
Huge win for #Celtic tonight. European football post Christmas looks inevitable after that. Anderlecht pretty awful. #ChampionsLeague

Rather than look at Anderlecht’s failings perhaps the man from the state broadcaster could have highlighted the fact that a Pot 4 club had won so emphatically against a Pot 3 club away from home.
All across the competition Pot 4 clubs have been taking a hiding with the BBC quick to jump on Celtic’s defeat from Paris Saint Germain.
A whole raft of stats at BBC Scotland went into the shredder last night as Celtic recorded the one of the best results in a decade by a tax paying Scottish club.
Perhaps if the Easdale brothers had invested in Celtic McLaughlin may have looked on Celtic’s win with a more favourable tone.
No one in Belgium pays the BBC TV licence/tax.
