Kris Boyd fears that Sevco are unable to sustain a 90 minute performance.

The striker, who picks up a salary from Kilmarnock, was expressing his concern about his old club to BBC Scotland.

Pressure is mounting on Pedro Caixinha with the visit of Celtic looming at the end of this week.

The euphoria of back-to-back wins over Ross County and Dundee was killed stone dead by a draw against Partick Thistle with reality restored by Celtic’s 4-0 win over Ross County.

Sevco return to Firhill tonight on League Cup duty but without mentioning it directly Boyd fears what could happen when Celtic visit Ibrox on Saturday.

Looking back on the season so far the former Scotland striker told Radio Scotland: “At Motherwell, they dominated the first half, could’ve been out of sight and then lucky to hang on.

“Hibs, started really, really well – lost that game. Hearts, it was 0-0 but by all accounts started that game reasonably well. The 45 minutes at Dingwall could’ve easily been out of sight.

“This is a big week. You look at Rangers’ next fixtures after that. They’ve got a tricky game at Hamilton, then they go to St Johnstone, then Aberdeen before finishing the first set of fixtures at home to ourselves.

“There’s not any easy games in there either, especially the next few.”

The next few are Partick Thistle away tonight and the visit of Celtic on Saturday.

Two defeats in those matches and Caixinha will be history with just the terms and timing of his departure to be finalised.
