Pedro Caixinha’s reign at Ibrox is in it’s final stretch.

According to a report in The Sun the fifth best coach in Qatar slaughtered his players at training on Monday highlighting the lack of togetherness between the British element in the squad and his well paid Latin imports.

With the Daily Record covering the story in a similar manner the pressure is all on Caixinha as the scapegoat for a disastrous start to the season.

Reports  that there are two separate factions inside Murray Park has been repeatedly commented on in social media with the eccentric Portuguese coach driving out the British based members that he inherited from Mark Warburton.

With imports like Carlos Pena picking up the best part of £30,000/week and contributing nothing on the park longer serving members of the squad have been unhappy to see players like Andy Halliday and Micky O’Halloran bad mouthed and sent out on loan.

Caixinha has finally recognised the rift in his squad which led to a showdown meeting on Monday.

According to The Sun source: “A lot of the players seemed shocked by the ferocity of the message.

Pedro demanded they do more to gel. He now expects a positive response — on and off the pitch. He made it absolutely clear what is expected of them all from here on in.”

So far Caixinha has been happy to talk about having the best squad in Scotland despite that claim being contradicted on a weekly basis.

Once an under fire manager turns on his squad there is usually only one winner and it’s rarely the boss.

When word of the issue reaches the boardroom it’s always easier to get rid of the manager than a dressing room full of players on long term contracts.

Sevco are due to hold a media conference to preview their trip to Hamilton on Friday, it’s expected that Ross McCrorie will be put up to say that everything is wonderful inside Ibrox and that he hasn’t noticed any issues within the squad.

If Caixinha is axed Kenny Miller and Graeme Murty are expected to take over as caretakers.
