Leigh Griffiths gave his fiercest critics the best answer possible- he stuck the ball into Wesley Foderingam’s net.

Tying scarves onto goalposts seems to have elevated the Scotland star to Public Enemy Number One at Ibrox.

In April he led the line when Celtic won 5-1 and although today’s scoreline wasn’t as emphatic Griffiths had the home defence at sixes and sevens.

Young McCrorie escaped with a nervous handball in the first half but midway through the second period he had no answer to the pace, movement and finishing of the Celtic striker.

Patrick Roberts pass was perfectly weighted with Griffiths timing his run perfectly before lashing a low shot into the net beyond Foderingham.

As he raced away to celebrate the striker managed to find a Celtic scarf, waved it in the air and milked the abuse of the home fans as he closed in on his 100th Celtic goal.
