John Hartson had an online chuckle as Sevco blew the chance of leapfrogging Celtic into top spot in the SPFL.

A simple four goal winning margin would have taken Pedro Caixinha’s men into top spot and piled the pressure on the hoops before tomorrow’s match against Ross County.

Buoyed up by winning two games on the bounce and Celtic’s 5-0 defeat from Paris Saint Germain the stage was set for a night of celebration.

Alfredo Morelos put the visitors in front but two goals shortly after half time from Blair Spittal and Chris Erskine killed off hopes of an other epic celebration at Firhill.

Graham Dorrans pulled a goal back after Erskine had been red carded but despite four minutes of stoppage time there was no late winner.

Wins for Celtic and Anerdeen at home to Ross County and Kilmarnock respectively tomorrow will see Sevco lagging five points behind the pace setters ahead of next Saturday’s visit from the champions to Ibrox.
