Ian Black believes that he could do a job at any level in Britain outside of the English Premier League!
The 32-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Blackpool at the end of last season.
Black stepped down from Hearts in 2012 to join Sevco in the Third Division before moving on to Shrewsbury and Blackpool when his Ibrox contract expired.
Despite being out of the top tier of football for five years the midfielder believes that he can do a job for a top club.
“I’m not worried because I know I still have plenty to offer,” he told The Scotsman about his lack of a club. “I’ve been fit all my career, I train hard and have never put on an ounce of weight. I have loads of years left, and outside of the English Premier League, I could do a job at any level in Britain.
“I have someone doing bits and pieces for me and there has been interest, and I’ve spoken to a number of managers. The offers have just been at a lower level than what I’d consider.”
Black was known mainly as a ‘competitive’ midfielder at Tynecastle but was cut down to size by the part-timers in the lower divisions during his three seasons at Sevco.
In his first season at Ibrox he picked up 13 yellow and two red cards in 37 appearances as Ally McCoist’s side won promotion, bizarrely Craig Levein provided him with a Scotland cap in a friendly against Australia.
