Jozo Simunovic has set himself two targets- one short and one long term.

The 22-year-old signed a new long term contract on Monday but was on the end of a 5-0 defeat from Paris Saint Germain the next day.

On Saturday it’s back to domestic business with Ross County visiting Celtic Park in a game that should be much less traumatic.

Simunovic recently switched from Croatia to Bosnia to meet his international ambitions with two targets in mind on the club front.

We have to be prepared for that game in Anderlecht,” he told the Daily Record. “It is the game where we can look for points. We will do everything to make sure we will do that.

I hope we will be champions for the next four years and make progress in the Champions League. It would be really good if 10 in a row happens.

We are looking at every game and we can win. Anderlecht is next and we will be prepared and ready to pick up points as we can.”

After just one round of fixtures it seems certain that Celtic and Anderlecht are involved in a battle for third place with little prospect of taking any points from Bayern Munich or Paris Saint Germain.

Anderlecht lost 3-0 away to Bayern on Monday night and while that is a slightly better result than Celtic’s they are toiling in the Belgian League.

With six matches played the Brussels side are stuck in tenth place with two wins, two draws and two defeats from their opening matches.

Before facing Celtic Anderlecht have to overcome away matches at Kortrijk, Westerlo and Beveren.
