Brendan Rodgers has reassured Irish Celtic fans that he has no interest in moving elsewhere.

The former Liverpool boss signed a new four year contract in April to replace the 12 month rolling contract that he signed when he took over at Celtic.

Last season’s success with largely the squad that he inherited made some English pundits sit up and take notice of the Irishman with whispers that he could move back to the EPL.

Having managed Liverpool there aren’t many jobs that would appeal to Rodgers’ ambitions with the circumstances at Celtic, where he has almost complete control, to his liking.

Asked about his future career path at a charity Q and A in Belfast the Daily Mail reported the Celtic boss saying: “I’m 44 now. The idea was to get to 60 and have as many different experiences as possible,’ he says. ‘I’ve done a lot already, good and bad but everything was a rush for me when I was younger.

“I’m settled now. I’ve happily signed a four-year deal and I would love to see that through. I’m a lucky man. If I wasn’t stood on the sideline I’d be in with you guys. I just want to make you proud.”

Rodgers was in good form on his home patch ahead of a crucial spell of matches that sees Celtic involved in two Champions League fixtures before the next international break.
