Brendan Rodgers is confident that he can turn his ‘under-12’s’ into Champions League winners against Anderlecht tonight.
The hoops boss was unusually critical of his side after the 5-0 loss at home to Paris Saint Germain which opened up the hoops Group B campaign.
Three domestic wins without losing a goal has restored morale to an extent but tonight’s clash in Brussels will be much tougher than anything than Ross County, Dundee and Sevco can offer.
Rodgers examines every detail of his side’s performance and is looking for a vast improvement tonight against the Belgian champions.
“Even after the game against Rangers on Saturday we reflected on it and looked at things we could have done better,” the Celtic boss explained to The Sun.
“We analysed things that could make us better in the future. And it was the same against PSG. Obviously, they’re very humbling experiences for players.
“It’s boys who are used to winning and when you come up against that level of play at the very top level of the game then it’s tough and it’s humbling but we’ve got an honest group.
“They’ve got spirit and we feel they’ll improve over the course of the campaign. We saw that last year too. We’ll do everything we can to fight for the result, whoever we play.”
Rodgers has no new injuries to deal with against Anderlecht with the return of Dedryck Boyata from injury bringing some stability to the hoops defence.
In attack Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths are both likely to feature at some stage with the biggest decision being over which striker starts the match.
