Brendan Rodgers has a secret ‘fear’ about Kieran Tierney scoring against Sevco!

The young defender lapped up every minute of the weekend win at Ibrox having sat in among the fans in December when he was out injured.

Goalscoring is one area of his game that is still to be fully developed although he did post a Goal of the Season contender against Kilmarnock last month.

Rodgers has helped develop the player bringing out the best in his natural ability with a will to win and love for the club that is rare in the modern game.

Kieran is one of these old school boys in terms of his qualities, determination and he works hard every single day,” the Celtic boss told TalkSPORT.

He’s a really good boy, he actually doesn’t know how good he is, which is nice. He has no ego, he just comes in every day and works.

And he is a huge Celtic fan. If he had scored at the weekend I wouldn’t know what he would have done.

He had a shot, which went across the goal, but I wouldn’t like to see him score against Rangers if he was on a booking, that’s for sure.”

Tierney and Rodgers have put their weekend success behind them with the focus switching to Anderlecht.

Rodgers will have his squad in at Lennoxtown this morning for a training session before making the short flight to Brussels this afternoon.

Although Anderlecht are languishing in mid-table they have won both of their matches since sacking Rene Weiler and replacing him with Nicolas Frutos on a caretaker basis.
