Brendan Rodgers will monitor the fitness of Jozo Simunovic over the next 48 hours.

The defender missed last night’s win over Dundee due to a knee injury and wasn’t risked at Dens Park.

Celtic have been dogged by injury problems in central defence all season with Dedryck Boyata making his first appearance of the season in the 4-0 win.

Apart from the away match against Astana Simunovic has been involved in all of the big matches with Rodgers keen to have him available for the matches against Sevco and Anderlecht.

Jozo’s knee is slightly swollen and he wasn’t fit to play,” the Celtic boss told Radio Scotland before last night’s match.

We’ll see what he’s like for Saturday. The medics tell me he should be fine but we didn’t want to aggravate it anymore.”

Rodgers has had to micro manage a number of positions this season as he steers Celtic through domestic and European commitments.

Moussa Dembele also missed out on last night’s win over Dundee but the striker will be available on Saturday after making a scoring return against Ross County.

Apart from injuries Rodgers’ biggest decision will be who to play behind the main striker with Patrick Roberts, Stuart Armstrong and Tom Rogic all in contention.
