Workaholic Pedro Caixinha has revealed that his full on relationship with players is stronger than with his sons!
If the child of a Sevco player has a runny nose the Portuguese genius phones a doctor, if a player is having a house build Pedro will lay the foundations.
Apart from beating teams from Luxembourg it seems that nothing is too much bother for Action Man Pedro although Micky O’Halloran may disagree.
“Above the football player, you have a man,” Caixinha revealed to The Sun. “A human being needs to be treated like that. I don’t want to just have a professional relationship with the players.
“I want them to be close to me, the way I am close to them.
“For example, when I am talking with them, and I know one of their sons or daughters is sick, I follow it up.
“The day after I say to them: ‘Is your son better’?
“Or maybe they have some sort of investment, a new house or they are building a new house, I follow the process.
“They are really my sons, and I spend more time with them than my real blood sons.
“That is the reality. I spend much more time here as a family than I do with my actual family. So that is the way we have to behave.”
Caixinha added: “Each player wants different things, but the treatment they expect from me has to be the same.
“We have no difference between a younger player and an older one.
“Or the one who plays more, the one who plays less, the one who scores more goals, the one who doesn’t score as many goals. I need them all to be equal and to be treated equally.”
O’Halloran and Harry Forrester quickly found themselves on the outside looking in as Caixinha brought in his own players through super agent Pedro Mendes.
Having won back-to-back games against Ross County and Dundee it seems that confidence is sky high at Ibrox thanks to the powers of Pedro.
A four goal win over Partick Thistle will put Sevco at the top of the table on goal difference before the real fixtures start against the top teams in the SPFL.
