Chris Sutton was on the warpath last night as Celtic crashed to a 5-0 defeat from Paris Saint Germain.
The BT Sport pundit didn’t hide as the post-mortem got underway on Celtic’s biggest ever home European defeat with supporters going through the whole range of emotions.
While the football from the French side was incredible to watch, mesmerising for too many Celtic players, there was a feeling that the hoops didn’t do themselves justice.
Tony Ralston and Patrick Roberts emerged with their reputations enhanced while Leigh Griffiths toiled manfully and forced a fantastic save out of the PSG keeper.
Well let’s all give up then… Got the CL money and were always short at centre half and didn’t recruit… that was a mistake???? https://t.co/mkoD6XD4sT

I am realistic… so you think it was a good decision not to bring one in?? Would have had a better chance… https://t.co/s0Z0J87rEv

5-0 is the worst defeat in 120 years ! If I was playing I would have been embarrassed… it happened last season and Celtic reacted… https://t.co/jKGV8EXUIX

You may find it funny but I’d say in fairness getting beaten by Luxembourgs 4th best team was far more embarrassing…. https://t.co/qFg1hNWvXv

After one match of the group it looks like Celtic are involved in a head-to-head battle with Anderlecht with little prospect of either team taking anything from the other matches.
Brendan Rodgers will be looking for much more from his side in the coming matches but must decide on whether to take a more pragmatic approach or to push on with his side’s expansive game and risk being opened up and exposed.
