Windass waits for punishment

Josh Windass could find himself in bother with the SFA after a hand signal made to Partick Thistle fans last night.

The former Accrington Stanley starlet was caught out by BT Sport cameras as he appealed to Partick Thistle supporters to return the ball as Sevco chased a third successive win to storm to the top of the table.

Pedro Caixinha’s men found the pressure too much with Windass letting his frustrations show as the clock ticked down to two more lost points.

The SFA have cracked down on gestures made by players in the past with Michael Higden and Leigh Griffiths suspended for gestures made to their own fans.

With last night’s match being televised live by BT Sport it will be harder for the Compliance Officer to ignore with the likely punishment being the offer of a two match suspension.

It’s unlikely that any retrospective action will be taken against Alfredo Morelos after the buffalo was captured twice kicking out at a Thistle defender off the ball.

The loss of Windass would be a major blow for Sevco who also look like facing Celtic on Saturday without influential skipper Lee Wallace who injured his groin ten minutes into last night’s match.

On the plus side former England youth team skipper Jordan Rossiter is expected to resume full training in seven to ten days.
