Erik Sviatchenko has reacted to the Celtic support being voted as the best in football by FIFA.

The award came last night in London with the fan award one of many at an event where Cristiano Ronaldo was voted as the Best Player in the World.

FC Copenhagen were among the other nominees for the fan award but Celtic’s Danish defender was quick to acknowledge the fans that he has been playing in front of for almost two years.

Sviatchenko is currently out injured but recently returned to training after being injured in the Champions League qualifier away to Rosenborg.

With Jozo Simunovic also out injured the return of Sviatchenko would be a timely boost for Brendan Rodgers who has had limited defensive options all season.

Nir Bitton is likely to partner Dedryck Boyata against Aberdeen tomorrow night but with a week to go until Celtic face Bayern Munich Rodgers will be hoping that Sviatchenko is back in contention for a return to action.
