Stuart Armstrong is determined to do himself justice against Bayern Munich tomorrow night.
The big build up to the clash in the Allianz Arena fell flat as the German champions ran out 3-0 winners.
After winning by that scoreline away to Anderlecht more was expected of Celtic but on the night Bayern barely got out of third gear.
In front of a full house at Celtic Park the hoops have the chance to open up the group with Armstrong determined to put on a far better display.
“We didn’t do ourselves justice?” he asked himself in The Sun.
“Yes, in certain aspects of the game, maybe losing the ball too cheaply and not looking after it as we would have liked.
“It is always difficult. You can get it back quicker domestically when you lose it but playing against top European teams, if you lose it, you have to work harder to get it back.
“We will need to be more careful in our possession. They are a very good team, we all know that. We just need to believe in ourselves.”
Armstrong was a second half substitute against Kilmarnock on Saturday and will be hoping to have played his way into Brendan Rodgers’ first XI.
The Irishman has a number of decisions to make in midfield over who to play alongside Scott Brown and which player should play behind the main striker.
Moussa Dembele seems certain to start ahead of Leigh Griffiths with Arnstrong in contention to play in the number 10 role or alongside Brown.
