BBC Scotland have responded to criticism for abandoning their coverage of the Dave King trial.

Yesterday Alasdair Lamont provided great value for the licence fee/BBC tax with live tweeting of the case.

King’s defence was effectively trashed yesterday as they switched from excuse to excuse for failing to make an offer of 20p per share to the shareholders that missed out on the concert party action at the end of 2014.

Social media was hanging on every tweet from Lamont but with their own agenda to follow Reporting Scotland on BBC1 decided not to cover the story.

Both the Daily Record and The Sun gave the story full coverage with many readers shocked to discover that King didn’t have access to £11m to help the club that he loves.

Surprisingly BBC Scotland opted not to cover the second and final day of the trial with a spokesperson explaining the decision to The Sun.

They said: “We have given this story appropriate coverage and will continue to do so.

What goes into any given edition of Reporting Scotland is a matter of news priorities and editorial mix on the day.”

In court today Lord Davidson admitted that Mr King is penniless.
