King set to splash the cash

Dave King is set to splash the cash to fund the next manager of Sevco.

Earlier this month his QC told the Court of Session in Edinburgh that he was penniless but it seems that the South African based criminal has discovered some fresh sources of cash.

Paying off Caixinha and his assistants won’t come cheaply while it’s unlikely that a new manager will have much enthusiasm for the raft of players brought in by the former Santos Laguna chief.

Sevco have still to produce their accounts for the year to June 2017 with the Europa League exit expected to blow an even bigger hole in this season’s accounts.

Despite all of those factors a new manager is set to be recruited although once talks begin it is almost certain that the next boss will currently be out of the game.

According to the Daily Record: “Rangers aim to make an appointment as quickly as possible and King will be forced to dig deep after again underwriting losses for the season estimated at several million pounds, which will be outlined shortly in the club’s annual accounts.

He oversaw a summer signing spree of around £10 million but the future of players such as Bruno Alves, Eduardo Herrera, Carlos Pena, Daniel Candeias and Fabio Cardoso is now in the balance.

They were brought to the club as part of Caixinha’s ‘Latin Wave’ but Rangers could be forced to cut short their losses in the coming months now the players’ mentor has departed.”

King has still to discover the outcome of his Court of Session appearance, any sign of money being invested in Sevco or promised in the club accounts is bound to be frowned upon in his battle to resist making a takeover offer to existing shareholders.
