Kris Boyd fears that Dave King doesn’t have the funds to stop Celtic.

The Kilmarnock striker has spent the last couple of weeks talking to various media outlets about his concern for the club that he played for during the 2014/15 season.

Boyd managed just three goals in The Championship as Sevco missed out on promotion, losing to Motherwell in a play-off.

According to his QC King is penniless but despite that statement from the Court of Session Boyd is hoping that the South African based criminal to bankroll Sevco to success.

“Dave King is on a flight back to South Africa and I worry where the money is going to come from in the future, as there is a serious amount of investment needed to close the gap on Celtic,” he told the Evening Times.

It seems that the obessession with Celtic is still the driving force at Ibrox rather than creating a self sustaining club.

Since starting the journey at Brechin City five years ago three permanent managers have been ditched with no sign of a plan to compete for the domestic honours.

During that time Celtic have sold half a dozen players to the EPL for over £40m while bringing through players such as Callum McGregor, Kieran Tierney and others.

While trying to stop Celtic winning trophies Sevco have sold Barrie McKay and Lewis MacLeod for less than £1m combined.
