Lewis Morgan has spoken out after being name checked by Brendan Rodgers.

The St Mirren winger will have a number of offers to consider at the end of the season with the Paisley club hoping that he can steer them to promotion.

Morgan was released by Sevco after playing up until u-17 level but has had his career revived after that unfortunate spell on the Murray Park conveyor belt.

Despite his Ibrox past the 21 year old has a balanced approach to his career and is delighted to have been noted by the best manager in the country.

It is nice and flattering to get praise and stuff, especially from someone like Brendan Rodgers,” he told The Sun.

That gives me a lot of confidence to keep doing what I am doing at the moment. It is great to get positive comments and hopefully that can help me take my game to the next level.

I can’t really affect what is happening with regards to my contract, so I’ve put that to the back of my mind.

I think if I can help St Mirren win the Championship and then gain a move, that would be in everybody’s best interests.”

On Saturday St Mirren won 2-0 away to Dumbarton to move three points clear at the top of the Championship with Livingston currently in second place.

After impressing for Scotland’s u-21 side in the recent clash with England at Middlesbrough the list of English clubs watching the St Mirren winger has grown considerably.
