Pedro Caixinha has refused to discuss Kenny Miller’s situation ahead of Sunday’s League Cup semi-final against Motherwell.
Almost a month after a furious bust-up following the 2-0 defeat from Celtic the veteran striker is still at the heart of all matters at Ibrox.
Miller hasn’t kicked a ball for the first team since that defeat but did score a spectacular goal in the 3-3 behind closed doors draw with Morton.
A mystery injury is expected to keep Miller out of the Sevco squad for Hampden with leaks flowing out of Ibrox to discredit the striker and his manager.
Last week before facing St Johnstone the 37-year-old was being referred to as ‘one of our own’ but today Caixinha’s attitude has changed dramatically.
“My thoughts about that is that I’ve been speaking about that for the last three weeks and now I’d just like to place a period on all those conversations,” the fifth best coach in Qatar told the Evening Times.
Asked if Miller would be in the squad, he added: “Period. Period. Period. Period in Portuguese means ‘point finale’. It means finished, no more questions.”
“It is [frustrating to still be discussing this] but I need to be polite in some moments and kind and respectful. In others I need to be abrupt and say it is time to place a period on this issue.
“Am I distracted? No. Nothing distracts me. I’m a guy who places my focus and follow my focus. Nothing can distract me.
“You know me. One of the good characteristics I recognise in myself is that I do not give up. I’m too persistent. When I want one thing, I just go for it.”
Caixinha returns to the scene of his first major embarrassment on Sunday when he takes Sevco to Hampden on cup duty.
In April following a 2-0 defeat from Celtic the former Santos Laguna supremo resorted to salt and pepper pots to explain his team formation.
After being knocked out of the Europa League by Progres Niederkorn at the first round stage another defeat on Sunday will lead to calls for Caixinha to do a Warburton.
