Brendan Rodgers has the highest regard for Stevie Clarke.

The Irishman was in the back-room staff at Chelsea a decade ago when Clarke was assistant to Jose Mourinho.

Clarke has worked alongside the biggest names in English game and was the surprise appointment by Kilmarnock to replace Lee McCulloch.

The former St Mirren defender guided Killie to a draw in midweek at Ibrox but that achievement was largely overlooked by the departure of Pedro Caixinha.

Kilmarnock come to Celtic Park unbeaten in their last two matches- both in Glasgow.

With Clarke watching from the stand they beat Partick Thistle 2-0 at Firhill before Wednesday’s draw at Ibrox.

Just one point separates the bottom four clubs who have become detached from the pack with Clarke given the job after McCulloch failed to win a single match.

If Celtic avoid defeat tomorrow they will match the 100 year old 62 match unbeaten British record set by Willie Maley’s side during the First World War.
