Brendan Rodgers gave Celtic’s u-14 side a surprise boost by dropping in on their half-time team talk against Forth Valley.

The Irishman’s vision for the game has been adapted throughout the Academy set up with the emphasis on passing and pace.

On Saturday Mikey Johnston was given his second first team start after impressing against Bayern Munich and Atletico Bilbao.

Rodgers style of management is all about identifying the players with potential and accelerating their development by giving them top team experience.

Despite having Bayern Munich to deal with in two days time the former Liverpool boss is happier on the training ground than studying video analysis and scout reports.

Rodgers own coaching career started with the Reading u-10 side before working his way through Chelsea, Watford, Reading, Swansea and Liverpool to join Celtic in May 2016.

Before tomorrow’s first team match Celtic’s u-19 side will take on Bayern Munich at Cappielow with the game being shown on BT Sport with a 5pm kick off.
