Pedro Caixinha’s treble bid ended in shame watching Sevco lose 2-0 to Motherwell from the South Stand at Hampden.

This morning the Ibrox boss was telling the newspapers how he was like a vampire such is his addiction to winning.

Six months after replacing Mark Warburton Caixinha is still looking to win three matches in a row.

It was a bad tempered affair at Hampden weakly refereed by Steven McLean whose brother started his playing career at Ibrox.

Louis Moult, a summer transfer target for Sevco, put the Steelmen in front with a close range effort in the 52nd minute then put the game beyond the tribute act with a spectacular lob 22 minutes later.

In-between those goals Caixinha had a furious row with the fourth official after an incident between Ryan Bowman and Fabio Cardosa left the Ibrox defender with a broken nose.

With Dave King flying in from South Africa for the match the post mortem promises to be explosive as Caixinha battles to survive in charge of the club he loves.
