Pedro Caixinha has left Sevco.

Speculation built up through the morning, at 3pm the BBC and Daily Record claimed that he had been sacked.

Last night’s 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock was the last match in charge for the visionary coach recruited in March on a three year contract.

Caixinha talked big but delivered little as he quickly developed into a figure of fun for fans across Scotland.

His media conferences became comical as he spoke of barking dogs and caravans while banning his players from wearing green boots. He also insisted on getting We Are The People painted throughout the insides of the stadium.

As recently as last Friday he was claiming to be a winning vulture with win-win his only options. In his final two matches in charge he lost to Motherwell and drew with Kilmarnock.

Celtic fans immediately took to the former Santos Laguna coach who leaves with three derby defeats on his CV, a 2-0 defeat at Hampden plus a 5-1 and 2-0 defeat at Ibrox.

At 11am this morning it was announced that an emergency board meeting had been called while Caixinha took training at Murray Park.

He left the state-of-the-art training complex at 2pm for Ibrox where he was informed that his services were no longer required.

The fine details of his departure have still to be confirmed but it’s expected that his replacement will be a currently unemployed Real Rangers Man.
