It was the song that celebrated Ibrox triumphalism for more than a decade as their ill gotten gains were pushed in the faces of rival supporters.
Working from his PR script and as the first man in the UK to wear a poppy Pedro Caixinha turned to Tina as the Sevco bus rolled up at Hampden yesterday.
Unfortunately for the fifth best coach in Qatar the eighties chart topper ‘Simply The Best’ is now just another stick to beat Ibrox fans with.
A generation of supporters grew up believing that their club was simply the best with those expectations and demands suffocating the tribute act who have yet to lift a trophy worth celebrating.
“They won’t be playing Tina Turner on the coach home!”
It’s time for an ‘underachieving’ Pedro Caixinha to go says @chris_sutton73… pic.twitter.com/RwsbyQymYM

Pedro should rest easy knowing the fans of the other 11 Premiership clubs are totally behind him and are desperate for him to stay …????????

Chris Sutton is the sharpest, most perceptive pundit on the box, especially in comparison to former Sevco managers Ally McCoist and Stuart McCall.
Claiming to be the old club that went into liquidation is now a millstone for it’s successor, a club that has to pay taxes like everyone else and without access to a bank offering an elastic overdraft.
It’s going to get worse, much worse before it gets any better at Ibrox, whoever replaces Caixinha should ditch as much baggage from the past as possible with Tina first for the chop.
