Lee Wallace has paid a glowing tribute to Kenny Miller describing him as a ‘real Rangers man’.

The row between Miller and Pedro Caixinha has been simmering for almost a month with no sign of peace breaking out.

Miller’s agent Mike Baldwin and side-kick Lee Naylor have weighed in this week with club captain surprisingly popping up yesterday to back his out of favour team mates.

Waldo told Sky Sports: “Speaking of him as my friend and team-mate, I cannot speak highly enough of him. What he’s done for my career and been able to learn from a top professional and a real Rangers man.

“I stressed around the time he was due contract talks that we needed to keep Kenny at the club because he’s the type of person who’s going to drive on everyone else around him, including myself.

“I learn from him every day and I think and hope that any situation can get resolved as quickly as possible.”

Waldo is currently out injured but can’t expect to regain the armband of dignity when he returns to fitness with Bruno Alves now leading the side.

Miller took the armband from Graham Dorrans when he appeared as a substitute against Celtic but hasn’t played a top team game since.

Caixinha will be speaking to the media today ahead of Sunday’s match with Motherwell which Miller is expected to miss with a mystery injury with the fall out from the Celtic defeat refusing to go away.
