Brendan Rodgers faces a massive decision tonight over whether to start with Kristoffer Ajer against Bayern Munich.
With Jozo Simunovic joining Erik Sviatchenko on the injured list Brendan Rodgers isn’t left with much in the way of options in central defence.
Earlier in the competition Anthony Ralston was selected to face upto Neymar with a similar dilemma now faced over the young Norwegian.
Ajer has only started four matches in his Celtic career but two of them have been in Europe with the injuries in central defence running back to the start of the season.
At home to his fellow Norwegians of Rosenborg Ajer looked imposing and confident showing the defensive qualities that appeal to Rodgers.
Playing alongside Nir Bitton in central defence it was a different part of the ‘learning curve’ away to Astana as Celtic shipped four goals and briefly threatened to lose a five goal first leg advantage.
Rodgers will have had options in mind for this match without Simunovic, at 6.30pm Celtic Park time we’ll know if Ajer is the preferred solution alongside Dedryck Boyata.
