Tommy Wright has given Pedro Caixinha some brutal home truths ahead of tonight’s clash with Sevco.

As a kid in Northern Ireland the Saints boss grew up supporting Rangers (IL) and has more of an insight into the Ibrox psyche than the hired hand from Portugal will ever have.

While Caixinha blabs about green boots and paints We Are The People inside the stadium Wright uses his energy on the training ground with St Johnstone regulars in the top six out-punching clubs with bigger budgets.

In his latest media embarrassment Caixinha claimed that St Johnstone had a mole inside Ibrox with Wright changing his entire build up to a match last season after being fed details of Caixinha’s team!

To most outsiders the Ibrox boss is a weekly chuckle as he diverts attention away from failings on the park with straight talking Wright delivering some uncomfortable home truths to his opposite number.

“His focus should be chasing Celtic and making sure they don’t get 10 in a row, rather than trying to play mind games and not showing respect to another manager,” the St Johnstone boss told the BBC.

“Because when you tell untruths about another manager, that’s not showing respect, and really that should be his focus.

“My team don’t need silly comments to motivate them. Our motivation has always been to win the game.”

Both men will come face to face at McDiarmid Park tonight.
