Celtic fans have finally found their love for James Forrest.

The exciting winger that broke into the first team in 2010 has struggled to win over the hoops fans with injury problems a recurring theme.

Brendan Rodgers had no concerns over awarding the Ayrshire bhoy a new deal at the start of last season with both parties delighted by the results.

Yesterday Forrest opened the scoring in the Betfred Cup Final win over Motherwell on route to picking up his 12th winners medal as a Celtic player.

The 26-year-old has now 43 goals for the hoops with some of them absolutely vital.

In October 2011 he was on target away to Kilmarnock as Celtic recovered from being 3-0 down and the likely departure of Neil Lennon.

Against Shaktar Karagandy he came up with the last gasp goal to earn a 3-2 aggregate win that took Celtic into the Champions League.

This season he scored the only goal of the tie away to Rosenborg while even his critics had to applaud the way that he performed in the recent Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
