Friends and former team-mates rallied round Liam Miller on twitter suggesting that the former Celtic midfielder is seriously ill.
News surfaced yesterday that the 36-year-old was seriously ill but confirmation was difficult to find.
While fans immediately started sending their best wishes and speculating on the illness former team-mates attempted to find out about the claims.
At midnight Chris Sutton tweeted:

Miller joined Celtic straight from school in Cork and made his big breakthrough at the start of the 2003/04 season.
Goals against Lyon and Anderlecht highlighted the fact that his contract was up at the end of the season with Manchester United moving quickly to snap up the midfielder.
At Old Trafford he made 22 appearances scoring twice before moving on to play at Leeds and Sunderland then having stints in Australia, back at Cork City then in the USA.
Miller earned 21 full caps for Ireland and was part of their u-16 side that became European Champions in 1998.
