Lee McCulloch fears that the success of Celtic will make managing Sevco a nightmare for whoever replaces Pedro Caixinha.

Five weeks into the ‘hunt’ to find a new manager candidates are bailing out left right and centre.

After Derek McInnes killed off the media frenzy Alex McLeish contacted Sky Sports to rubbish claims that he was on the verge of replacing Caixinha.

Over the course of a week Graham Murty has descended from a safe pair of hands to a bumbling rookie ahead of a double header against Aberdeen.

Overshadowing everything that the Ibrox side attempt is the success of Celtic with Brendan Rodgers already killing off the hopes of Mark Warburton and Caixinha in his first 18 months in charge of the 6-in-a-row champions.

Celtic are running away with it at every opportunity,” McCulloch told the Daily Record. “They are just far too good every week and every game day.

Their manager is probably one of the best managers in Britain just now. He has changed the perception of Scottish football since he came in.”

In 2012 McCulloch TUPE’d his contract over from Rangers to Sevco and captained the club to the Third Division and League One titles but left the club after finishing third behind Hearts and Hibs in the 2015 Championship.
