Mikey Johnston has revealed that he’ll have his eyes on Neymar on Wednesday night.

The antics of the Brazilian have made him a panto villain to the Celtic support but no one can doubt his skill.

Johnston has made two top team appearance in the last six months and is tipped along-with Tony Ralston to be the next Academy graduate to make the top team breakthrough.

The 18-year-old is full of tricks but likes to study the best players in the business to bring an extra edge to his game.

In midweek Johnstone will play against PSG in the UEFA Youth League then head to the Parc de Princes to cheer on Brendan Rodgers side with one eye looking out for a special opponent.

Asked about the player he looked up to the young Celt told The Sun: “Celtic fans probably won’t like it but I do like Neymar!

I try to watch him most games. I got my own ticket for the PSG game when they played at Parkhead and went as a fan and I kept an eye on what he did.

I always like to watch the big players like him, Eden Hazard and Philippe Coutinho. I try to take bits of their game and add it into mine. I’m always trying to improve, I like to learn.

Hopefully the next time I go up I get a couple of goals and an assist! When you’re a winger you need to be creating. I might look alright on the ball and stuff but I know I need to be contributing and causing problems.”

Like Callum McGregor and Kieran Tierney Johnston has been part of the Celtic Academy set up since the age of seven.
