Brendan Rodgers hasn’t read a word of the criticism he’s received since Celtic’s Champions League defeat from Paris Saint Germain.

The margin of the defeat has brought out the usual suspects with European expert Kris Boyd among thise telling the Irishman where he went wrong.

While the margin of the defeat was worrying, Celtic supporters have been almost unflinching in their backing of Rodgers as he attempts to put his stamp on every aspect of the club.

A place in the Europa League in the new year looks almost certain for the hoops with Rodgers by-passing his critics.

“I have to be honest, I haven’t seen one word of it,” he told the BBC about his critics. “That’s what I do. My focus is purely for the players, for the supporters.

“What I will say is we earned the right to be there in how we’ve played and how we’ve qualified. There will always be an argument to fit the narrative after the game.

“I’m sure there will be plenty of critics, which there are when there’s a scoreline like that, but it’s not my worry.

“The more experienced and the older I get in management, I learn to listen less to what people will say and just really focus on what we’re trying to do here over the longer term.

“We’ll look to be better and improve. The culture we’ve created allows us to get on and try and win the next game.”

Rodgers remains unbeaten in 64 domestic matches as he prepares for Hampden and the chance to win his fourth trophy since taking over from Ronny Deila.

Mikael Lustig and Nir Bitton are injury doubts but Celtic are strong favourites to lift the trophy and will have the backing of around 40,000 fans inside Hampden.
