BBC Scotland pundit Tom English believes that Sevco fans will tear Ibrox down if they lose back-to-back matches to Aberdeen.

The fall out from last night’s 2-1 defeat from Dundee made for wonderful listening with the state broadcaster one of the leading proposers of the survival myth.

With no commercial considerations BBC Scotland could have admitted to liquidation, confirmed the new club status and provided a haven of shelter for those traumatised by the events of 2012.

English was almost the last man backing Craig Whyte as administration loomed in February 2012 when he earned a living with The Scotsman and appears to have learned as little from that episode as the most fanatical of the Ibrox supporters.

Feeding off the despair and panic of the EBT duet Steven Thompson and Billy Dodds last night English felt the need to get in on the discussion.

Discussing the back-to-back matches against Aberdeen he said: “If they lose both of them watch out because these Rangers fans will tear down Ibrox.

The board now are under the most savage pressure, they’ve put themselves under that pressure by getting the Caixinha appointment so horrendously wrong.”

Ibrox won’t be torn down. The fans will express their anger online, blame Neil Lennon and and create bizarre conspiracies.

BBC Scotland have provided no analysis or comment on the disastrous accounts that showed a £6.7m loss on turnover of £29.2m.

Failed, partly by the fear of the state broadcaster, administration is closing in on Ibrox but as they did in 2012 the fans will shrug their shoulders and look for a true blue sugar daddy.

Six years on no lessons have been learned with memberships at bowling and golf clubs set to soar as Celtic close in on the number that they dread. Ask Barry or Derek Ferguson to rearrange the letters N, T and E.
