Celtic’s u-19 side completed their UEFA Youth League campaign with a well deserved 3-1 win over Anderlecht at Dumbarton.
There has been plenty of heart-break with late winners conceded at home to Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich but there were no mistakes this time around as the hoops did the double on the Belgians.
Aitchison was the architect of Celtic’s second goal four minutes later, the striker held the ball up well with Kerr McInroy drilling home a 20 yard drive to double Celtic’s lead.
Mikey Johnston, available again after injury, was having a growing influence on the game with the Belgians struggling to cope with his trickery.
Even a three goal lead at this level is never secure with Anderlecht pulling a goal back in the 70th minute through Corryn.
The win lifted Celtic onto six points, two ahead of Anderlecht who finished in bottom place in Group B.
