Celtic seem set for a transfer windfall with Manchester City lining up a £70m bid for Virgil van Dijk.

According to a report in The Times Pep Guardiola is determined to add the Southampton defender to his side for the second part of the season as they push for a double of the EPL and Champions League.

Van Dijk was the subject of intense speculation during the summer transfer window but after a botched bid by Liverpool Southampton refused to let the defender go.

After making his peace with the club the Dutchman has returned to the Southampton side but has refused to pledge his commitment and is expected to be on the move next month.

Celtic sold van Dijk to Southampton for £10m in August 2015 in a deal that included a sell on clause.

The hoops can expect to pick up at least £5m from that clause although the precise details have never emerged.
